Daejeon, South Korea

Maglev service began on Science Day, April 21, 2008, at Daejeon Expo Park. The 40-passenger prototype shuttles back and forth along a one kilometer track 16 times a day. It operates between stations at the National Science Museum and Expo Park. The state-backed Korea Institute of Machinery & Materials, along with Rotem, built the line. South Korea plans to commercialize the technology based on experience with tracks at Taeduk and Daejeon.
