![]() Niles and Frasier try to figure out a way to Dr. Crane Day rally after being mugged

Frasier The 1000th Show, 1997 (TV, DVD) Frasier Crane and his brother Niles have one of their classic arguments while on the Seattle Center Monorail. Crane is about to be honored with a key to the city on Dr. Frasier Crane Day, but hes late to the rally because the monorail breaks down due to electrical problems (remember, if you show monorail in film, problems must almost always occur). The breakdown requires it to run back downtown to Westlake Center (even though it had "failed" only a few feet from the Seattle Center Station). |

The Princess and the Warrior (Der Krieger und die Kaiserin), 2000 (Movie, Video, DVD) Nurse Sissi has a bad experience under the Wuppertal Schwebebahn. Intriguing story of her quest to find Bodo, a man she met below the monorail on that day. |

Why Not Monorail?, 2000 (Video) Using monorail footage from TMS archives and my voice for narration, Karl Parker put together this short video touting the virtues of monorail transit. Until the advent of TMS DVDs, this video was used a great deal to promote monorail. |

Cowboy Bebop-The Movie, 2001 (Movie, Video, DVD) Anime meets action movie. The monorail sequence even has its own chapter title on the DVD, "Monorail Battle." It is an appropriate title! Spike Spiegel rides the monorail on the roof (not recommended), then gets into a shootout with cold-blooded Vincent Volaju (also not recommended). The monorail design is obviously influenced by the Wuppertal system, and the anime style makes for some interesting visuals. Pretty bloody stuff though, not really a good cartoon for the little ones.

Monorails of Japan, 2003 (DVD) In one frenzied week, David M. Ice, Ken Streit and I toured Japans monorails for The Monorail Societys first DVD. This was also David M. Ices first production for TMS, and was such a success that he went on to produce more DVDs for TMS. My personal favorite segment of this DVD is Tokyo Monorail at Night. There are stunningly beautiful shots of the monorail train lights reflecting over Tokyo Harbor, with excellent music accompanying. Makes me want to jump on a jet and go walk along the tracks again! Available in the Monorail Store |

Monorails of Malaysia, 2004 (DVD) David M. Ices second production for TMS is considered by some to be his best. The Kuala Lumpur Monorail shows modern cities how it should be done. Beautiful trains, stations, track and alignment are all captured perfectly by David. Theres even some amazing Monsoon rain footage, with monorail trains being pelted by a downpour as they cruise along. The Metrail hybrid monorail test track is also featured in an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour. Available in the Monorail Store |
